Download the Installer
You should have received a download link via email. Click the link to download Ghost-CMS-Manager-win.exe (approximately 113 MB).

Run the Installer
Once downloaded, locate the installer in your Downloads folder and double-click Ghost-CMS-Manager-win.exe to run it.
⚠️ Windows SmartScreen Warning
You may see a "Windows protected your PC" message. This is normal for new applications. To proceed:
- Click "More info"
- Then click "Run anyway"
Ghost CMS Manager is safe and does not contain malware.

User Account Control (UAC)
Windows will ask "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?"
Click Yes to continue with the installation.

Choose Installation Location
The installer will suggest a default location:
- C:\Program Files\Ghost CMS Manager
You can keep the default location or click Browse to choose a different folder.
Click Next to continue.

Select Start Menu Folder
Choose where you want the Start Menu shortcuts to be created.
The default "Ghost CMS Manager" folder is recommended.
Click Next to continue.

Additional Tasks
You can choose to:
- ✅ Create a desktop shortcut (recommended)
- ✅ Run Ghost CMS Manager on startup (optional)
Select your preferences and click Install.

Complete Installation
The installer will copy all necessary files to your computer. This should take less than a minute.
Once complete, you can choose to:
- ✅ Launch Ghost CMS Manager immediately
Click Finish to exit the installer.

First Launch & Configuration
When you first launch Ghost CMS Manager, you'll need to configure:
- Ghost Admin URL - Your Ghost site's admin URL (e.g., https://yourblog.com/ghost)
- Admin API Key - Generate this from your Ghost Admin → Integrations
The app will securely store these credentials locally on your PC.
🎉 Installation Complete!
You're all set! Ghost CMS Manager is now installed and ready to use. You can launch it from:
- Desktop shortcut (if you created one)
- Start Menu → Ghost CMS Manager
- Windows Search → Type "Ghost CMS Manager"
💡 System Requirements
- Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11
- ~250 MB free disk space
- Internet connection for Ghost API access
- Administrator rights for installation
Troubleshooting
Installer won't run:
- Make sure you clicked "Run anyway" in the SmartScreen warning
- Right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator"
- Temporarily disable antivirus and try again
Installation fails:
- Ensure you have administrator rights
- Close all other programs and try again
- Check that you have enough disk space
App won't launch:
- Try running as administrator (right-click → Run as administrator)
- Check Windows Event Viewer for error details
- Reinstall the application
Can't connect to Ghost:
- Verify your Ghost Admin URL is correct (should end with /ghost)
- Check that your Admin API Key is valid
- Ensure your Ghost site is accessible from your network
- Check Windows Firewall isn't blocking the app
Uninstalling
To uninstall Ghost CMS Manager:
- Open Settings → Apps → Apps & features
- Find Ghost CMS Manager in the list
- Click Uninstall
- Follow the prompts to complete removal
